Their Shadows Deep
Beautiful Men. Fan Fiction. Life is Good.

Welcome to Deb's LJ! Here you'll find my fan fiction going back through many years and several fandoms.
Thanks to alyjude for this lovely banner. The three gorgeous men you're currently drooling over are:
Paul McGillion, Stargate Atlantis' Dr. Carson Beckett
Dominic Keating, Enterprise's Lt. Malcolm Reed
Sean Bean, Lord of the Rings' Boromir and the sexy bad guy in a million other movies
You'll find plenty of Beckett and Reed fics here. No Bean fics, but look at those eyes...how could I leave him off the banner?

The text is from a wonderful poem from William Butler Yeats called When You Are Old.

Hi all! I have a new published original story available for download through Dreamspinner Press.

Overture by D.G. Parker
Classical pianist Eric Daystrom is in New York to play Carnegie Hall on
Christmas Eve. Separated from his long-time lover Dave due to a family
tragedy, Eric's not sure if he has a boyfriend or not when he meets taxi
driver Dante. Blind since birth, Eric loves the fact that Dante treats him
like a capable adult instead of an invalid. What seems like a promising new
romance is upended when Dave shows up. Can Eric survive the stress of a
major performance, a romantic meltdown AND the holiday season and somehow
find his own happy ending?

The story is non-explicit gay erotica and can be downloaded in various formats here.

Happy Holidays!

Hello all, I have a new short story available for purchase through Dreamspinner Press.

In Service to the King by D.G. Parker
Nerom didn't realize when he rescued an injured stranger on a dark, rainy night that he'd forged a bond with his future king. Though years of trials and separation work their changes on them both, nothing can break the link that draws them to each other.

The story is 39 pages and is downloadable for $3.99 at the publisher's website. Here's the link: www.dreamspinnerpress.com/napsizedreams.htm#In_Service_to_the_King_

Remember that this is gay erotica, so please avoid if it's not your cup of tea.

In related news, I may be attending the Gay Erotica Expo in NYC next weekend, October 12th. It would technically be my first book signing, how cool is that? :)

Hello all, sorry I haven't been posting any fan fic lately. I've recently discovered you can actually get paid for writing, and I've been dedicating my time to original stuff.

I've had a new story published in the Dreamspinner Press anthology Sandals and Sodomy. The story is called "Greeks Bearing Gifts" and is once again under my pseudonym D.G. Parker. It's an epic tale of war and slavery and the triumph of love over all. There's even a shipwreck. Go. See. Buy. :)  You can read an excerpt and get ordering information at http://www.dreamspinnerpress.com/newreleases.htm

Edited to add: As the title might hint, this is gay erotica. You have been warned. :)

Some pretty exciting news. My original fiction will be appearing in print for the first time ever! Dreamspinner Press, a publisher of gay erotica, is offering an anthology called Know When to Hold 'Em. My story, "Back in the Saddle," is included under the pen name D.G. Parker.

I don't generally dabble in slash, though I enjoy reading it, so this is a first on many levels. It's also why you haven't seen any fanfic from me lately.

The book is available at the publisher's website, www.dreamspinnerpress.com, and will be amazon.com in a few weeks.

Just as the title says. I'm irritated that Munch is always on the periphery, so I changed a few stories to make him the center of attention, as he so richly deserves. There's some crossover with Homicide: Life on the Streets. If you're not familiar with it, do yourself a favor and go rent it today!

New fandom for me! There just isn't enough appreciation for John Munch, the most interesting character on the show. I'd love some feedback on this, good or bad.

Summary: A clandestine meeting in a coffee shop. A confessed secret. A plot to cover up the truth. Nothing out of the ordinary when you work with John Munch.

Great news! Three of my Stargate Atlantis stories have been nominated for a Skiffy award! "Preservation," "The Greater Good," and "And Don't Call Me in the Morning" have all been nominated. I'm very flattered and pleased that so many people enjoy the stories. Please go to their website, have fun reading and vote for your favorites!
